Dandelion: Dosage

Dandelion is contained in numerous tea mixtures, also in the form of filter bags, and as instant tea of the group liverbile teas or digestive teas. Furthermore, there are many different combination preparations on the market for oral use, for example in the form of drops, capsules, tonics, tablets or dragées. The most effective dosage form is considered to be the fresh plant press juice.

Dandelion: the right dose

The average daily dose, unless otherwise prescribed, is about 1 tablespoon of the cut drug to 1 cup of water for infusions and 10-15 drops 3 times daily for tinctures. For decoction, 3-4 g of the cut drug is added to 1 cup of water.

Dandelion – preparation of tea

To prepare a dandelion tea, 1-3 g of the finely chopped drug (1 teaspoon is about 1.2 g) is added to cold water, boiled and left to infuse for 10 minutes. Finally, the whole is passed through a tea strainer.

For digestive problems, a cup of the warm tea should then be drunk each morning and evening.
