Dandruff of the Head (Pityriasis Simplex Capitis): Complications

The following are the most important diseases or complications that may be contributed to by pityriasis simplex capitis (dandruff of the head):

Skin and subcutaneous (L00-L99).

  • Inflammation of the scalp
  • Skin lesions due to increased scratching
  • Recurrent dandruff – after cessation of therapy, dandruff occurs again.
  • Increased itching

Psyche – nervous system (F00-F99; G00-G99)

  • Social withdrawal
