Delirium: Diagnostic Tests

Obligatory medical device diagnostics.

Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, laboratory diagnostics and mandatory medical device diagnostics – for differential diagnostic clarification.

  • Echocardiography (echo; cardiac ultrasound) – for suspected structural heart disease.
  • Computed tomography/magnetic resonance imaging of the skull (cranial CT or.cCT/cranial MRI or cMRI) – for further diagnostics, e.g., if a space-occupying process is suspected.
  • Encephalogram (EEG; recording of the electrical activity of the brain).
