Dosing of Betaisodona® solution
When dosing Betaisodona® solution, care should be taken to ensure that the skin area to be disinfected is completely moistened. Possible gaps can be identified by the fact that the skin does not turn brown in the corresponding area. If necessary, some Betaisodona® solution should be applied here. However, care should be taken to ensure that, for example, no excess solution collects in the wound in the form of a “puddle”. Otherwise the skin may become softened and thus hinder the healing of the wound.
Application of Betaisodona® Solution
Betaisodona® solution can be applied either undiluted or diluted with cold water. For larger or infected wounds the product should be applied undiluted. For small abrasions, a dilution of 1:1 is sufficient.
Betaisodona® solution should only be applied to the affected skin area. The amount to be used must be sufficient to ensure that the wound is completely moistened. However, no solution should accumulate or “overflow”.
However, to protect clothing, furniture or the floor, it is recommended to use an underlay during application. Betaisodona® solution is intended for superficial application to the skin only. Under no circumstances should it be drunk or used internally in any other way.
For most areas of skin, an application time of two minutes is sufficient. For skin rich in sebaceous glands, such as on the face, Betaisodona® Solution should be left on for at least ten minutes. A reduction in the effect can be seen when the brown colouring of the skin caused by the iodine solution recedes. If necessary, the application with Betaisodona® Solution should then be repeated. Your doctor or pharmacist can give precise instructions on the type and duration of application of the solution.
How expensive is Betaisodona® solution?
The price for Betaisodona® solution varies and is primarily based on the package size, although for larger packages the price per quantity is significantly lower. So if you need larger quantities or use Betaisodona® Solution frequently, it is better to buy a larger package. It is worth looking at offers and comparing prices.
Large quantities are usually cheaper on the Internet. For smaller bottles it is often not worth buying on the Internet compared to the normal pharmacy, because you usually have to pay shipping costs. – The price for the smallest available bottle with 30ml is about three euros.
- 100ml of the solution cost around ten euros. – For a quantity of one litre (1. 000ml) the price is usually a little under 30 Euros. – Sometimes three of these large bottles are offered together on the Internet at a discounted price of less than 70 Euros.
Durability of Betaisodona® solution
Betaisodona® solution has a shelf life of up to three years after first opening. It is therefore advisable, especially with larger bottles, to note the day of opening on the label. Once the minimum shelf life specified by the manufacturer has expired, there is no longer any guarantee of effectiveness.
However, if the bottle is undamaged and has never been heated above 25°C, the Betaisodona® solution can still be used in most cases. An exception is when the Betaisodona® Solution has been decolorized to a large extent. In case of doubt, therefore, old and expired bottles should be discarded and a new bottle purchased.
