Enjoy Nutrition

Healthy food is associated with many people with the attributes of bland, boring and not very tasty. Even from grain or green food is the speech. Yet healthy eating is anything but. A healthy diet is a diet that includes the entire range of foods, i.e. a varied mixed diet. Only on the quantities and the composition it depends.

Freshness is the motto

In particular, fresh foods such as fruits, vegetables and herbs should stimulate the palate. Many are no longer aware of how aromatic a homemade tomato soup with fresh basil tastes or fresh garden vegetables briefly steamed. Particularly from fresh food special delicacies can be prepared. We just need to get back to the original foods and rediscover their special and unique taste. Because this seems to have been lost somewhere between canned food and ready-made pizzas.

Do epicures live healthier lives?

People who enjoy food and do not regard it as a minor matter take more time when eating and automatically eat more slowly. This causes them to pay more attention to their sense of satiety and not eat beyond hunger. For these people, it is often easier to maintain their weight. Enjoyment is not a question of quantity, but a question of quality and choice. Anyone who enjoys eating does not necessarily have to eat too much. That’s how gourmets do it: a little of each, but in small portions. Moreover, gourmets eat with all their senses. They perceive more visual and gustatory subtleties. Through the sensory experience, they presumably also do something for their health. To this day, we do not know what effect the well-being of eating has on our body. It is true that individual food components and their effect on our organism are being studied. But how the positive stimulation of the senses and the pleasure of eating affect our health is still completely unclear.

Enjoy once again

Let the little devil on your shoulder just once again free rein. Look forward to a boisterous feast with family or friends. Plan a menu that makes the little devil rejoice in terms of enjoyment and the little angel speechless in view of the healthy selection. How about the following menu, for example? Colorful salad with roasted sunflower seeds, sprouts and yogurt dressing

Salmon fillet with lime sauce, colorful vegetables and wild rice

Mixed fruit salad with vanilla curd cheese

Why not try cooking together? Contact with food stimulates the senses, promotes the desire for healthy food and trying out new things. Especially for children, this is a very special experience.

Remember that the eye eats with you

Set the table so that it is a feast for the eyes. Candles, napkins and flowers will quickly create a beautiful atmosphere. Arrange the individual courses of the menu on the plates beautifully and do not forget a small decoration. Allow time for each course. Small breaks in between help digestion and leave room for conversation. Here we can learn a lot from the French dining culture, which is characterized by sitting together for hours, feasting and talking. There, eating is not just a secondary matter, but becomes an evening-filling program.

Enjoyable food – every day?

Why not? We can’t get around the topic of food. We need to take in food every day in order for our bodies and minds to function. However, with our changing lifestyles, there seems to be little time for this mundane necessity. Or is this just a matter of priorities? Why not try giving the topic of food a greater, temporal importance in your life?

  • Consciously schedule times for food preparation and family meals.
  • Actively involve family members in meal preparations (cutting vegetables, peeling potatoes, setting the table).
  • Use fresh ingredients as often as possible and enjoy this consciously.
  • Indulge the eye as often as possible with a beautifully set table.
  • If possible, avoid secondary activities at the dinner table, such as watching TV, reading, etc.
  • Try something new more often, so that the taste buds do not “fall asleep”.
