Ginseng is offered in the form of the cut root slices, the dry extract and as a tea. The root is also processed into capsules, tablets, dragées or pastilles. Extracts from red ginseng usually have a significantly higher content of ginsenosides.
The crushed drug can also be taken as such and chewed. In addition, ginseng liquor is also commercially available.
Ginseng: What dose?
The average daily dose is 1-2 g of the drug, unless otherwise prescribed. To achieve a therapeutic effect, the daily amount of ginsenosides should be at least 10 mg. In China, for example, much higher dosages are common.
