Supraventricular Tachycardia: Symptoms, Complaints, Signs

The following symptoms and complaints may occur together with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT):

Leading symptoms

  • Sudden onset of tachycardia (heartbeat too fast: >100 beats per minute).

Accompanying symptoms (common in people with cardiovascular disease).

  • Hypotension – too low blood pressure
  • Angina pectoris – “chest tightness”; sudden onset of pain in the heart area.
  • Vertigo (dizziness)
  • Syncope – momentary loss of consciousness.
