Due to their initially very unspecific symptoms, Chlamydia infections can go unnoticed for a long time. Urogenital infections in particular often only become noticeable by a slight burning sensation in the genital area and a yellowish discharge. This often leads to complications such as an infestation of the internal reproductive organs, because no early diagnosis and therapy is carried out. Pneumonia caused by Chlamydia is also noticed rather late, as it shows itself through atypical symptoms.
