Structure and properties
Hydroxyethyl salicylate (C9H10O4, Mr = g/mol) exists as a colorless, oily liquid or in as colorless crystals that are sparingly soluble in water. It is an ester of salicylic acid.
Effects
Hydroxyethyl salicylate has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Indications
For external treatment of pain and inflammation of various causes.
