Hyperacidity

How does hyperacidity occur? What are the causes of an overacidified stomach? If more acid metabolic waste is produced in the body than can be neutralized and excreted, chronic overacidification of the organism occurs in the long term. The acid-base balance becomes unbalanced and the organism can only work suboptimally. The body now resorts to mechanisms that counteract this imbalance. For example, the body initially deposits excess acids in the connective tissue, only to dissolve them out and excrete them when the blood again has sufficient alkaline compounds.

Main reason: wrong diet

However, with a prolonged lack of alkaline mineral salts and a simultaneously continuing acid load, these intermediate stores become final stores. This can lead to pain, restricted movement and function of individual cells or even entire tissues.

In addition, the body then resorts to minerals from its own stocks, e.g. calcium from the bones, which can lead to osteoporosis in the long term. It is a gradual process, sometimes lasting for years. Dietary habits consisting of more than 25% acid-forming foods (meat, fish, cheese, sausage, etc.) are unfortunately widespread among most people in industrialized nations. This forces an acid load as well as a mineral deficiency of the organism.

Meat consumption is too high

In other words, fruit and vegetable consumption is far too low. The recommendation of the German Society for Nutrition to consume fruit and/or vegetables 5 times a day is followed by only very few people. A vicious circle begins: Accumulating acids must be neutralized by alkaline mineral salts. Mineral salts are missing, the organism overacidifies.
