Babies and toddlers have a lower rate of infection. The exact reason for this is not known. However, it can be said that even among infected children the mortality rate is much lower than among adults.
The mortality rate for babies and infants is 0%. There have therefore not yet been any deaths in this age group. In general, old people are more likely to represent a risk group, often in connection with other pre-existing conditions. Such pre-existing conditions such as COPD or arteriosclerosis do not occur in infancy.
