Laser Therapy: How does it work?

The word laser – Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation – is an abbreviation from the English language, which translates to “light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation”.

The name of the laser indicates which medium is used to generate the laser light. Our sunlight contains light of different colors, i.e. different wavelengths.

A laser contains light of only one wavelength, which is limited in its propagation to a certain space. This type of light is called coherent light.

In modern medicine, the laser already has numerous applications.

Here, a distinction is made between four main groups of lasers:

  • Laser for surgical treatment
  • Laser for the treatment of vascular lesions
  • Laser for epilation (depilation)

Beauty and aesthetics are important parts of life for most people.

Small blemishes often have a disturbing effect and affect our self-esteem and enjoyment of life.

Using modern laser technology, it is now possible to gently treat countless skin changes.

These include:

  • Wrinkle reduction
  • Removal of pigmentation spots
  • Scar correction
  • Removal of spider veins
  • Age spot removal
  • Epilation (depilation)

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

IPL systems are another type of treatment. High-energy flash lamps, unlike laser systems, produce non-coherent light, which means that the light from the lamp contains different wavelengths (colors). With the help of filters, a certain wavelength range can be selected, which results in various application possibilities.

By means of IPL technology, it is possible to perform the following treatments or treat skin lesions:

  • Depilation (epilation)
  • Age spots
  • Blood sponge
  • Couperose
  • Port-wine stains

Laser therapy, as well as IPL technology, helps maintain natural beauty or correct minor blemishes for your self-confidence and attractiveness – for life.
