Metrorrhagia: Test and Diagnosis

1st order laboratory parameters – obligatory laboratory tests.

  • Small blood count
  • Ferritin – if iron deficiency anemia is suspected.
  • HCG determination (human chorionic gonadotropin) – to exclude pregnancy.
  • 17-beta estradiol
  • Progesterone
  • FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone)
  • Taking a Pap smear

Laboratory parameters 2nd order – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, etc. – for differential diagnostic clarification.

  • Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein) or ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate).
  • TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone).
  • Prolaction
