This is the active ingredient in Neurexan
The preparation contains a combination of homeopathic medicinal substances. In homeopathy, it is assumed that the extreme dilution (potentiation) of substances that actually cause complaints is activated by the body’s own mechanisms, which combat the health problem. The Neurexan active ingredient complex is a mixture of passion flower (Passiflora incarnata), oats (Avena sativa), coffee seeds (Coffea arabica) and anhydrous zinc (Zincum isovalerianicum).
When is Neurexan used?
The effect of Neurexan is highly valued in cases of nervous restlessness and sleep disorders caused by nervousness. These can be due to various causes such as upcoming exams, stress at work or in the family. The homeopathic ingredients of the preparation promote rapid relaxation and improve the ability to concentrate.
What side effects does Neurexan have?
So far, no side effects have been reported after taking Neurexan. In general, a so-called initial aggravation can occur with homeopathic medicines. This is a temporary worsening of the symptoms. In this case, the preparation should only be used after consulting a doctor.
What you should bear in mind when using Neurexan
The medicine is not addictive, but homeopathic medicines should not be taken over a long period of time unless advised to do so by a doctor.
As with all medicines, a few things should be borne in mind when taking homeopathic preparations. For example, the preparation in tablet form contains lactose. If a lactose intolerance is known, the intake should first be discussed with a doctor.
Children and Neurexan
Neurexan is not recommended for children under the age of twelve, as there is insufficient experience of its use in this dosage. Free-dose administration in the form of drops should be discussed with the attending physician, as Neurexan drops contain alcohol.

Medical advice should be sought before using Neurexan, especially during pregnancy. A doctor should also be consulted before taking Neurexan if you are breastfeeding.

As with all homeopathic medicines, alcohol or other stimulants and stimulants can have an unfavorable effect. The effect of Neurexan can also be undesirably altered if alcohol is consumed at the same time.

The preparation is only available in pharmacies in Germany and can therefore be purchased in any pharmacy without a prescription. Nevertheless, you should discuss with a doctor before use whether the preparation is the best remedy for treating your stress-related, nervous restlessness and/or sleep disorders. The dosage and dosage form that seem most appropriate for you will also be determined. In the case of prolonged restlessness, it is important to rule out other organic or psychological causes. The same applies if taking the medication does not alleviate the symptoms.
The product is available in two dosage forms. Either Neurexan tablets or drops can be purchased in various pack sizes.
Interesting facts about Neurexan
In 2009, the efficacy of the preparation was compared with that of valerian preparations in a study. Around two thirds of the 800 patients received the drug, the rest were treated with the comparator drug. The positive effect was confirmed in four out of five subjects in the Neurexan group.
