Nocturnal upper abdominal pain on the right
Upper abdominal pain, which occurs exclusively at night, probably has no purely organic cause, as the pain would otherwise also be present during the day. Nevertheless, eating habits should be reconsidered, because abdominal pain (even at night) can always occur after late, high-fat meals. This would then also argue for gallbladder involvement.
Furthermore, it would be important to find out whether the pain occurs every night and how long it lasts. A treatment attempt with a hot water bottle should be undertaken only timidly, as this could make a gallbladder problem even worse.
