Osteochondroma: Medical History

The medical history (history of the patient) represents an important component in the diagnosis of osteochondroma.

Family history

  • Are there any diseases in your family that are common? (Tumor diseases)

Social anamnesis

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Have you noticed any swelling or deformity in the joints and/or bones* ?
  • Is your mobility limited? (Flexion and/or extension ability of the affected joint).
  • Have you noticed any poor posture per se?
  • Do you have muscle pain?
  • Do you suffer from numbness? If so, in which area?
  • Since when do you have these complaints? Do they occur continuously or only in phases, for example during movements?
  • How is your physical resilience to be classified?
  • Have you noticed any other symptoms?

Self anamnesis incl. medication anamnesis

  • Previous diseases (diseases of the musculoskeletal system, tumor diseases).
  • Allergies
  • Environmental history (ionizing radiation/X-ray/radioactivity).
