Pleuritic Pain (Pleurodynia)

Pleurodynia (Greek. πλευρά “side, flank, rib” and οδύνη “pain,” German. Rippenfellschmerzen; B33.0: Pleurodynia epidemica; R07.3: Other chest pain) refers to pain in the region of the pleura (pleura; pleuritic pain). It occurs in various diseases of the pleura, especially in the context of pleurisy.

Course and prognosis: The course and prognosis depend on the cause of pleurodynia.
