Po Implants

Many women, especially very slim women, suffer from the feeling of a too flat bottom. While in Brazil and parts of the United States many women already resort to plastic surgery with bottom implants, this trend is still largely unknown in Germany. With the help of a butt augmentation with Po implants, unloved contours can be improved and beautified in a simple way.

Causes and reasons

The reason for opting for a Po surgery with Po implants is usually dissatisfaction with a Po that looks too flat without curves. Especially slim women with missing fat pads on their buttocks are often affected by this dissatisfaction. However, genetic factors can also lead to a much too flat buttocks, i.e. to a reduced gluteus maximus (gluteus muscle).

This cannot be improved even by special buttock training, so Po implants are a good help. Even people whose connective tissue has become flaccid, either due to age, genetic factors or excessive weight loss, can achieve an erection and firming of their buttocks with the help of Po implants. However, Po implants cannot correct excessive excess skin.

This would have to be done conventionally via buttock lifting. If women or men are dissatisfied with the shape of their buttocks per se, Po implants can also help here. However, it is important to consider the anatomical conditions of the patient.

Alternatives

Without surgery Very slim women would also be advised to gain a little weight. Even a slight weight gain of 1-2 pounds can lead to more volume on the buttocks and a more beautiful buttock shape. Another alternative to Po implants can be hyaluronic acid or MacrolaneTM.

Macrolane is an artificially produced form of natural hyaluronic acid that is injected into the skin above the buttocks with small syringes. Due to its properties, the buttocks can be erected and shaped according to the patient’s wishes. However, since macrolane (hyaluronic acid) is subject to natural degradation by the body, the effect is not permanent.

After 1.5 years, the treatment would have to be repeated if desired. It is important not to sit or lie on the treated buttocks during the first hours and days of the post-treatment, as this could lead to a redistribution of the hyaluronic acid and possible changes in shape. As an alternative to hyaluronic acid, the buttocks can also be injected with the patient’s own fat, which is also known as “Brazilian butt lift”.

A prerequisite for this procedure is that patients have small areas of fat (so-called “fat pads”) on their body, from which the fat can first be removed and then injected into the buttocks. Very underweight people would therefore not be considered for this type of treatment. The procedure is usually performed under anesthesia or, for less sensitive patients, in a twilight sleep.

Here too, sterility during the procedure and protection of the buttocks during post-operative treatment would be of great importance. Po implants are particularly popular in Brazil and the USA. Even if the trend in Germany is still predominantly towards breast augmentation, the demand for Po implants is slowly increasing here as well.

Just like breast implants, the quality of these implants has improved and optimized in recent decades, so that they can withstand severe bruising and impact. Like breast implants, Po implants are made of cohesive silicone, a special silicone gel, and a highly cross-linked surface that provides the implants with a high degree of protection and safety. Because of the many advantages, nowadays Po implants are placed intramuscularly, i.e. in the large gluteus maximus muscle (M. gluteus maximus) and no longer subcutaneously (under the skin) or behind the muscle (submuscularly).

Although this placement is more difficult and demanding in terms of surgery, it has many advantages. During the operation, part of the large gluteal muscle is exposed and then filleted without cutting. This creates a small implant compartment in which the Po implant can be inserted without complications.

The coordinated size of the implant compartment to the implant prevents the implant from slipping. Capsular fibrosis or nerve injuries have also become very rare due to the intramuscular position of the Po implant and the preparation in the muscle. At the end of the operation, the implant site and the skin are stably closed so that the suture can withstand early movements such as sitting and walking.Previously used implant sites are the subcutaneous site (located on the gluteal muscle, under the skin); the subfascial site (implant is located between the muscle and its thin sheath (fascia)) or the submuscular site (implant is located under the muscle). The possible complications, advantages and disadvantages of each method are discussed in detail in a medical consultation before the surgery. All in all, however, buttock augmentation with Po implants is a very safe and low-risk procedure, which achieves a lasting and beautiful result in the long term and is also profitable in terms of costs over many years.
