Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).
- Do you suffer from itching in the anal region?
- Do you have pain during bowel movements?
- Have you noticed blood admixtures (purulent?) or mucus in the stool?
- Do you suffer from a constant feeling of urge to defecate?
- Do you have a feeling of incomplete bowel evacuation?
- Do you suffer from constipation?
- Do you have pain in the hip region or pelvic area?
- How long have the complaints already existed?
- Do you change sexual partners frequently?
- Do you have unprotected anal intercourse?
- Do you engage in any special sexual practices (foreign bodies, anal intercourse)?
Self history including medication history.
- Pre-existing conditions (infectious diseases esp. sexually transmitted diseases, intestinal diseases).
- Sexual history (survey of male and female): question about anoreceptive anal intercourse (anoreceptive or passive is the one / the one in which the penis is inserted).
- Radiation therapy in the pelvic area
- Allergies (ingredients of medications, latex allergy (condoms)).
