Prognosis

Once a tooth is affected by caries, the dentist can of course try to remove the defect, i.e. drill. However, the caries is not reversible or curable. It is therefore essential to prevent it in any case. Even if the carious part of the tooth has been removed and, for example, a crown has been fitted, it is still possible that the caries will reappear.
