Prognosis of dry pneumonia

It is difficult to make generalized statements about the prognosis for dry pneumonia. Depending on the type of pathogen, age and immune competence of the patient, concomitant diseases and the duration of the disease until the start of therapy, the spectrum ranges from uncomplicated healing within days, through protracted complicated courses to death. While in most cases, early antibiotic therapy allows for a quick recovery, the mortality rate of legionella pneumonia is about 10%.
