Products
Ribes nigrum mouth spray is available in many countries from Spagyros, among others (Spagyros Ribes nigrum). The drug belongs to the alternative medicine gemmotherapy (“bud therapy”). Is Latin and translated means bud.
Production
The drug is prepared from the buds of black currant. It is a homeopathically potentized glycerol macerate (D1). The buds are harvested in spring when the buds begin to sprout. They are cleaned and macerated in an alcohol-glycerol solution. The extract is filtered and diluted in a 1:10 ratio. The ingredients include amino acids, vitamin C and polyphenols (flavonoids).
Effects
The mouth spray is believed to have antioxidant, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and analgesic properties, among others. It is said to promote the endogenous release of glucocorticoids from the adrenal cortex. We cannot comment on its actual efficacy. Adequate clinical studies do not seem to be available (see also at medizin-transparent.at). It is a method of alternative medicine.
