Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of scabies (scabies).
Family history
- What is the general health of your relatives?
- Do family members/other contacts also have sudden onset itchy skin lesions?
Social history
- Do you have frequent and prolonged close physical contact with others in your professional or personal life?
Current anamnesis/systemic anamnesis (somatic and psychological complaints).
- Since when did the skin changes occur?
- How long have you been suffering from itching?
- Does the itching intensify when you are lying in bed?
- Where are these skin lesions located? Note: In young children, the hairy head or face may also be affected.
Vegetative anamnesis including nutritional anamnesis.
- Do you pay attention to good personal hygiene?
Self history including medication history.
- Pre-existing conditions (infections, skin diseases)
- Operations
- Allergies
- Medication history
