- Abdominal ultrasonography (ultrasound examination of abdominal organs) [hepatosplenomegaly (enlargement of liver and spleen)]
Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, laboratory diagnostics and obligatory medical device diagnostics – for differential diagnostic clarification depending on the exact symptoms.
- Electrocardiogram (ECG; recording of the electrical activities of the heart muscle).
- Echocardiography (echo; cardiac ultrasound) – when structural heart disease is suspected.
- Cardiac catheterization examination in pathological echo.
- X-ray of the thorax (X-ray thorax / chest), in two planes or the affected body regions (v. a. hip joints).
- Computed tomography (CT) of the abdomen (abdominal CT) – for further diagnostics.
- Computed tomography of the skull (cranial CT, cranial CT or cCT) – for further diagnostics.
- Magnetic resonance imaging of the skull (cranial MRI, cranial MRI or cMRI) – for further diagnostics.
