The following symptoms and complaints may occur together with rhonchopathy (snoring):
Leading symptom
- Rhonchopathy (= sounds caused by the pharyngeal muscles slackening in the sleeping person, causing the uvula and soft palate to flutter in the air being breathed).
Accompanying symptom
- Dry mouth in the morning
Note: Snoring may be one of the symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea (see obstructive sleep apnea, OSA, below). However, it may also simply be primary snoring, in which breathing rhythm and sleep quality remain undisturbed.
