Synonyms in the broadest sense
Training plan splitting
Definition
Similar to the isolation principle, this principle is a variation of the training. The split system is based on a structured training plan.
Description
Beginners usually complete all muscle groups in one training session. Advanced athletes train according to the split system. Only a few muscle groups are trained per training unit.
The split system requires a higher training effort, but offers the possibility to train single muscles in a more targeted way and to apply several exercises to one muscle group. In addition, the musculature receives a prolonged regeneration.
