Symptoms

The main symptom “problems urinating” can be described and substantiated even more precisely. Decisive for the diagnosis is whether it is a burning sensation or whether the bladder is disturbed or increased. There are often additional symptoms for any cause and underlying disease.

In many cases, pain when urinating is caused by infections of the urinary tract or the bladder. This infection can be accompanied by fever, chills, aching limbs and headaches. These are typical signs of an infectious disease.

Further therapeutic steps are then taken after a blood test and pathogen identification. The kidney can also be inflamed if it hurts when urinating. If it is inflamed, patients experience a strong feeling of illness with typical symptoms of infection.

In addition, there is severe pain in the flanks, which can be quickly detected by tapping on the middle lateral back. If a bladder voiding disorder is described with regard to the age and sex of the patient, further examinations must be initiated. A palpably enlarged prostate is typical, which restricts the flow of urine.

Very rarely, nerve damage is responsible for the problems in urination. A pain in the back or an accident have often preceded such damage. The typical burning sensation during urination is in most cases due to an infection of the lower urinary tract or the bladder.

Especially young and sexually active women are often affected. Typical are also patients who have had a bladder catheter inserted during a longer stay in hospital. With each day of catheterization, the risk of infection by a germ increases.Slight urinary tract infections subside within a few days and are often only felt when urinating.

In the case of larger bladder infections, an increased feeling of sickness is added. Less frequent causes of burning sensation when urinating are urinary stones, which are excreted and irritate the mucous membrane from the inside, but also inflammation of the renal pelvis. The latter is accompanied by a strong feeling of illness.
