The duration | The Rhabdomyolysis

The duration

The duration of rhabdomyolysis is strongly dependent on the cause. In the case of trauma, the muscle decay usually lasts for several days to weeks. In chronic diseases, for example metabolic diseases, rhabdomyolysis can also occur over a long period of time. How long the consequences are felt depends strongly on how early and intensively they were treated.

The prognosis

The prognosis of rhabdomyolysis is better the earlier the disease is detected and treated. Rhabdomyolysis usually heals without complications. In the event of kidney failure or severe blood clotting disorders, months of hospitalization and lifelong damage up to death after a few days can occur. Such complications can occur in up to 15% of affected individuals.
