The side effect
After the ointment has been applied, blurred vision can occur because the ointment is very fatty. However, this symptomatology should improve shortly afterwards. Another possible side effect is the increased absorption of the vitamin.
This can manifest itself, for example, as headaches, dizziness and nausea. However, these side effects occur very rarely and if they do occur, you should tell your doctor. Furthermore, vitamin A has a teratogenic effect – it is toxic to an unborn child and can lead to malformations. However, this requires high doses, which are not found in an ointment. Nevertheless, pregnant women should inform themselves before use and may prefer another alternative if there are any uncertainties.
