Treatment of the allergy

Skin rashes due to allergies are usually treated with creams and ointments containing cortisone. These reduce the reaction of the immune system and at the same time have an anti-inflammatory effect. Nasal sprays and eye drops are used against a runny nose and watery or burning eyes. These are mainly intended to provide sufficient moisture to irritated mucous membranes, but may also contain anti-allergic active ingredients.
Duration of the allergy
An allergy in the face can present itself in different forms and has mainly different causes. Depending on the cause, the duration of the symptoms changes. Contact allergies cause a skin rash, which usually disappears after a few days.
Symptoms of food allergies, on the other hand, usually last for a shorter time. In general, the tendency to facial allergies is not curable, so it lasts a lifetime. Diagnosis of an allergy in the face
The diagnosis of an allergy in the face is usually based on the doctor-patient conversation in which the doctor asks about specific complaints in the facial area. In addition, physical signs such as skin rash, swollen eyes and redness in the face are an indication of an allergy in the face. A detailed diagnosis also includes the determination of the triggering allergen.
For this purpose, the prick test is used, in which various allergens are injected into the skin on the forearm. If someone is allergic to a certain substance, an itchy, reddened swelling develops after a few minutes exactly at the injection site concerned.
