Treatment/Therapy
A causal (targeted) treatment for Leaky gut syndrome is not available. On the one hand, any underlying diseases (e.g. chronic inflammatory bowel diseases) should be treated as best as possible by a physician. On the other hand, avoiding triggering factors, for example in the case of proven food intolerances, can provide relief.
In this case, medical advice should be given in order to treat food intolerances as best as possible. In addition, the respective lifestyle plays an absolutely decisive role. Excessive consumption of alcohol, smoking or a diet rich in white flour or sugar should be avoided.
In the case of an incorrect colonization of the intestine with a change of the own milieu, an intestinal rehabilitation with the supply of certain intestinal bacteria preparations can be useful. This should only be done specifically and with medical advice. A diet rich in dietary fiber can promote the recovery of the mucosa.
A sufficient supply of vitamins, minerals, trace elements and amino acids should be ensured. In addition, the supply of so-called probiotics (drugs with viable microorganisms) can support the reconstruction of the intestinal mucosa. or Healthy Nutrition Healing clay is obtained from a type of clay (loess) and is mixed in water in small quantities and drunk for internal use. There is no scientific proof of efficacy. The effect in the Leaky gut syndrome is mediated by binding harmful substances and subsequent elimination of them. Thus the sanitation/recovery of the intestine is to be supported.
Duration/Prediction
The duration is individual and strongly dependent on various factors such as already existing basic diseases, age and lifestyle. The duration can therefore range from a few weeks to two years. Here the cooperation of the patients is essential, for example with the nutrition and a change of the life-style.
Course of disease
There is no scientifically proven knowledge about the concrete course of the Leaky gut syndrome. What is decisive is the treatment of the corresponding cause of the increased permeability of the intestine, for example a malpopulation, a previous antibiotic therapy or a chronic inflammatory bowel disease. If the triggering causes are eliminated and the therapy is started promptly, the course of the disease can be influenced favorably and healing occurs.
If the cause is not treated and/or the patient does not cooperate, a Leaky gut syndrome can occur again even after successful treatment. A Leaky gut syndrome can be cured. However, decisive factors are important.
For example, whether the triggering causes can be eliminated and the cooperation of the patients in the therapy. In addition, existing other diseases or a necessary radiation or surgery have an influence on the chances of cure.
