Tribenoside

Products

Tribenoside is commercially available as a cream and as suppositories (Procto-Glyvenol, fixed combination). It has been approved in many countries since 1972.

Structure and properties

Tribenoside (C₂₉H₃₄O₆, M_r = 478.6 g/mol) exists as a yellowish to pale yellow, clear, viscous liquid and is practically insoluble in water.

Effects

Tribenoside (ATC C05AD01) reduces capillary permeability, increases vascular tone, and is anti-inflammatory.

Indications

For local treatment of external and internal hemorrhoids (combination with lidocaine).
