Interactions of tyrosine with other agents (micronutrients, foods):
Phenylalanine
Tyrosine can be produced in the human body from the essential amino acid phenylalanine. Therefore, if there is an existing deficiency of phenylalanine, tyrosine becomes indispensable! Conversely, tyrosine supplementation reduces the amount of phenylalanine needed.
Caffeine
There is evidence that tyrosine administration enhances the effects of certain stimulants, such as caffeine, ephedrine, and amphetamines.
