No primary laboratory tests are indicated for varicose veins! 2nd order laboratory parameters – depending on the results of the medical history, physical examination, etc. – for differential diagnostic clarification in case of suspected thrombosis.

  • Factor V Leiden mutation – so-called APC resistance (APC genotyping).
  • Factor II mutation (prothrombin mutation).
  • Hyperhomocysteinemia
  • Antithrombin III deficiency
  • Protein C deficiency
  • Protein S deficiency
  • Factor VIII elevation
  • Platelets
  • Fibrinogen – due todysfibrinogenemia
