General measures
- Reassure the affected person – usually the laryngospasm lasts no more than two minutes
- Switch off the noxious agent, e.g. suctioning
General therapeutic measures
- Ventilation with a respiratory mask
- If necessary, intubation – securing the airway using an endotracheal tube (called a tube for short; it is the breathing tube, a hollow plastic probe inserted into the trachea (windpipe))
