What is the prognosis for a pieced nodule?
The prognosis of the pieced nodules is very good. There is no indication that the nodules can turn into malignant tumors. Even if the peeled nodules do not cause any symptoms, they will not disappear by themselves. Only through surgery can the nodules be completely removed. However, a recurrence is still possible.
You can recognize piecemeal nodules by these symptoms
Pieced nodules rarely cause problems. They are much more likely to attract attention visually. You will see single or several skin-colored or yellowish nodules on the part of the body that was exposed to the pressure.
This is usually the case on the outer or inner heel edge. The nodules can be up to 5 mm large. If stress is applied, the piecemeal nodules can protrude particularly clearly.
If the nodules are located at the heel, for example, the nodules would protrude when standing. The consistency of the nodules also varies depending on whether the body region is being loaded or not. Thus, the nodules feel rather soft when not under load.
If the body region is loaded, the fatty tissue is pushed further outwards. As a result, more fatty tissue is pushed outwards and the nodes feel harder. At rest, the pieced nodules do not cause any complaints.
However, under stress, a feeling of pressure or even pain of varying intensity can occur. Do pulled nodules cause pain?
Those affected by pieced nodules usually feel no pain. If pain occurs, it is usually only felt during a load.If further pressure causes irritation of the nerves in the areas where the nodules are located, pain may be increased. In most cases, the pain is dull or oppressive.
