Obligatory medical device diagnostics.
- Electrocardiogram (ECG; recording of the electrical activity of the heart muscle) – for basic diagnosis.
Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination and obligatory laboratory parameters – for differential diagnostic clarification.
- Exercise ECG – in the presence of risk factors and from the age of 50 years.
- In case of pathological ECG findings or further pathological findings.
- Echocardiography (echo; cardiac ultrasound) – especially if structural heart disease is suspected.
- Long-term ECG (ECG applied over 24 hours).
- Long-term blood pressure measurement (24-hour blood pressure measurement).
