Baby rash and fever
Like children, babies can also suffer from typical childhood diseases such as measles and develop a rash. However, it should be noted that the cause of a rash after fever in babies is almost never scarlet fever, as babies very rarely develop it. The three days fever and thus the rash after fever often affects babies and toddlers between the age of six months and two years.
This leads to a sudden high fever that lasts for about 3-5 days. Then the temperature drops and the baby develops a fine patchy rash, which is usually found on the trunk of the body. Accompanying symptoms such as coughing, water retention in the eyelids and diarrhoea can give a further indication of the disease.
The disease occurs very frequently. Almost all children have been infected with the virus up to the age of 3 years.
