Bog cushion: What is it?
Moor pillows are pillows that are available in different sizes and contain moor from different moor areas, depending on the manufacturer. The bog pillows are produced especially for medical purposes and usually consist of a plastic foil into which the bog is filled. Depending on the manufacturer, the lifetime of the bog pillows is several years.
In most cases, bog pillows can be used for both heating and cooling applications, as the bog can keep a certain temperature constant for a longer period of time. Depending on the desired temperature, the bog pillows can be cooled in the refrigerator or heated in a water bath or microwave. For cold therapy, the bog pillow can be cooled down to 3°- 6° and can be used for sports injuries, bruises, inflammations or toothache, for example.
If the peat pillow is heated up to 50°, it can have a soothing effect on neck and back pain, rheumatic diseases, abdominal pain or menstrual cramps. The moor pillow promotes blood circulation, stimulates the metabolism and relieves pain. When heated, it can relieve muscle tension and hardening and alleviate joint pain.
Moor cushion for the back
Moor cushions can be used very well for back pain, muscle tension in the neck and for the after-treatment of herniated discs. Basically there are many different causes for back pain. Not all of them can be treated causally from the outside with a moor pillow, mostly the heat therapy is a therapy of the symptoms.
Especially in the case of herniated discs, spondylolisthesis or other non-muscular causes of the complaints, the treatment should always be carried out by a doctor and a physiotherapist. The application of the moor cushion has a supporting effect. For the self-therapy of muscle tensions, a shoulder-neck-mud cushion with a special fit is well suited. The bog pillow should be warmed up and should lie on the shoulders and neck for 20-40 minutes, so that the muscles can relax and the pain can be relieved. Thus, a moor pillow is a better alternative to conventional hot-water bottles, because it stores the heat longer and there is no danger of leakage and scalding.
