Effects
Calcium dobesilate (ATC C05BX01) improves capillary function and blood flow properties.
Indications
- Microangiopathies, e.g., diabetic retinopathy.
- Chronic venous insufficiency
- As an adjuvant in superficial thrombophlebitis.
- Hemorrhoids
- Postthrombotic syndrome
- Microcirculatory disorders of arterio-venous origin
Contraindications
Calcium dobesilate is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity. Full precautions can be found in the drug label.
Interactions
No drug-drug interactions have been reported to date.
Adverse effects
Gastrointestinal discomfort, skin reactions, fever, chills, and arthralgias occur rarely. Agranulocytosis has been reported sporadically.
