Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency.

  • Does your job require you to stand or sit for long periods of time?

Current anamnesis/systemic anamnesis (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • What symptoms have you noticed?
    • Swelling of the legs
    • Painful legs
    • Atrophic skin lesions
  • How long have these changes been present?
  • When does the swelling occur? After standing or sitting for a long time? In the evening?
  • Do the symptoms such as pain and swelling change after lying down and at night?If so, in what way?

Vegetative anamnesis incl. nutritional anamnesis.

Self anamnesis incl. medication anamnesis

  • Pre-existing conditions (deep vein thrombosis; cardiovascular disease; renal disease).
