Contraindications/ Contraindications
Although Mucofalk® is a herbal remedy, in some cases it is not permitted to take it. These include: Allergies to the ingredients, especially Indian flea seed husks Pathological narrowing of the oesophagus or stomach Swallowing problems Intestinal obstruction Sudden, long-term change in stool behaviour Blood in the stool Severe form of diabetes (diabetes mellitus) In the case of prolonged, unclear symptoms that do not improve despite taking Mucofalk®, a doctor must be consulted.

Mode of action
Indian flea seed husks, the active ingredient in Mucofalk®, have a high proportion of so-called mucus polysaccharides. They can bind up to 40 times their own weight in water and this increase in volume triggers an expansion stimulus in the intestine, so that a laxative effect is achieved. Therefore, it is essential to ensure a sufficient fluid intake!
Additionally, gases and toxins from bacteria (toxins) bind. Mucofalk® is mainly used in the treatment of constipation and diarrhoea. Ultimately, the great swelling power of psyllium husks regulates intestinal motility and prolongs the time water remains in the intestine.
Furthermore, it is recommended that Mucofalk® be used for diseases that require easier intestinal emptying with soft stool. These include haemorrhoids, torn mucous membranes in the anus region (anal fissures) or painful defecation after operations in the rectum. Mucofalk® can be used as a supportive treatment for diseases that require increased dietary fiber intake, e.g. irritable bowel syndrome.In alternative medicine, the drug is gaining popularity in the treatment of elevated cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) and obesity (obesity).
