Stairs are often a major obstacle – either they are insurmountable or they pose an increased risk of falling. Make sure that individual steps are not damaged, slippery or brittle. Install non-slip, colored decking. They will still be recognizable even if you forget your glasses, for example. On very long and wide stairs, you can place a chair halfway down. This way you can take a break in between.
– Stair lift: Climbing stairs can become tedious. For physically weakened people, a stair lift is an option. This consists of a transport chair and a rail that is mounted on the stair wall. The chair runs electrically and can be directed along the rail by a switch.
