Cost of treatment of a lipoma | When should one have a lipoma removed?

Cost of treatment of a lipoma

The costs depend on the choice of the method and the number of lipomas present. Also the assumption of costs or the share of the excess can vary from one health insurance company to another. Many do not refund the costs.

During one treatment several lipomas can be removed as long as the patient tolerates it or several sessions are necessary. As the number of lipomas increases, so do the costs. The injection lipolysis has an initial price of about 240- 260€. The costs for a treatment with laser are about 360€. Again, the removal of the first lipoma is more expensive than the resection of further lipomas.

How long am I on sick leave?

How long a sick note is issued after a lipoma removal cannot be said in general for all procedures. It depends very much on how large the lipoma is and where it is located in the body. The operation can range from a small skin incision to a large abdominal operation.

On the day of the operation, you should certainly not work any more, especially if you have been given general anesthesia for the operation. If you have coped well with the operation itself, only the skin needs to heal well again. Otherwise, it is of course relevant which job you have and whether, for example, a bandage on your arm already prevents you from doing it.
