Diaper Dermatitis: Therapy

General measures

  • In addition to treating the skin with pastes (drying pastes for weeping skin areas or covering soft zinc pastes), care should be taken to change diapers frequently.
  • Diaper change every two hours and later every three to four hours.
  • Every now and then babies for a long time without diapers in the air romp.
  • Observance of the general hygiene measures!
  • Review of permanent medication due topossible effect on the existing disease.

Nutritional medicine

The following recommendations do not apply to infants, but refer to adults.

  • Nutritional counseling based on nutritional analysis.
  • Nutritional recommendations according to a mixed diet taking into account the disease at hand. This means, among other things:
    • A total of 5 servings of fresh vegetables and fruit daily (≥ 400 g; 3 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit).
    • High-fiber diet (whole grains, vegetables).
  • Observance of the following special dietary recommendations:
    • Diet rich in:
      • Vitamins (Vitamin D)
      • Omega-3 fatty acids (marine fish) – once or twice a week fresh sea fish, i.e. fatty marine fish (omega-3 fatty acids) such as salmon, herring, mackerel.
  • Selection of appropriate food based on the nutritional analysis
