Diflubenzuron is commercially available in many countries as a powder in combination with teflubenzuron and as a monopreparation. It has been approved in many countries since 2008.
Structure and properties
Diflubenzuron (C14H9ClF2N2O2, Mr = 310.7 g/mol) is a benzoylphenylurea derivative. It is structurally closely related to lufenuron (Program).
Effects
Diflubenzuron (ATCvet QP53AX30) inhibits parasite development by inhibiting chitin synthesis.
Indications
For the treatment of ornamental fish, especially koi, against parasitic crustaceans.
