Diphenylpyralin was included in Arbid drops in combination with buphenin until late 2011. Arbid had been approved in many countries since 1965.
Structure and properties
Diphenylpyralin (C19H23NO, Mr = 281.4 g/mol) has a structure comparable to other antihistamines. It is present in drugs as diphenylpyraline hydrochloride.
Effects
Diphenylpyralin (ATC R06AA07) is antihistamine and antisecretory. The use of antihistamines in nonallergic rhinitis is controversial among experts.
