Duration of complaints after back bruising
How long a back bruise after a fall is painful and hinders daily activities and the practice of sports depends on the extent of the injury. Among other things, the height from which the fall occurred and the nature of the impact level are decisive. When falling onto an object such as a concrete pillar or step, the back bruise may be more severe, as well as when falling from a great height (for example from a tree or horse) onto unyielding surfaces such as asphalt.
It is difficult to give a general time frame, bruises can last for weeks or even months before they are completely painless. The decisive factor is the relief of the back. Ointments or anti-inflammatory drugs can support the healing process.
Bruises usually disappear more quickly and undergo a change in color. They are first red and blue, then violet and brown and finally green and yellowish.
