Duration of the treatment

The duration of the treatment varies individually depending on the cause of the intestinal obstruction and the type of treatment. Especially if an artificial bowel outlet is created, the treatment can take many months until the artificial outlet is removed. In the case of drug therapy, however, it can also last only a few days.

If chronic diseases are the cause, a lifelong therapy may be necessary. An exact period of time cannot therefore be given in general.
