Electromagnetic Sensitivity (Electrosmog): Medical History

Anamnesis (medical history) represents an important component in the diagnosis of electromagnetic sensitivity (electrosmog).

Family history

  • Are there other people in your family who believe you are electromagnetically sensitive?

Social history

  • Are there radio masts, power lines, transformer and radar installations, or other “electromagnetic emitting” devices in your home environment?
  • Is there any evidence of psychosocial stress or strain due to your family situation?

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Have you noticed symptoms such as headaches, difficulty concentrating, or skin changes for which you have no other explanation?

Vegetative history

  • Do you smoke? If so, how many cigarettes, cigars, or pipes per day?
  • Do you drink alcohol? If yes, what drink(s) and how many glasses of it per day?
  • Do you use drugs? If yes, what drugs and how often per day or per week?

Self history including medication history.
